We are a family-based business nestled between Newbury and Tadley on the Hampshire Berkshire Border. We have showrooms on two floors with our own stonemasonry workshop of which we can produce custom-made hearths and fireplaces to your individual requirements and a stone yard for you to choose from a wide selection of materials such as granite, marble and slate. We have a wide range of Woodburning and multifuel stoves on show from a number of leading manufactures such as Stovax, Hunter, ACR, Dean Forge, Parkray, Gazco which include live displays in Solid fuel, Gas and electric.

Because we manufacture in our own workshop we have finishes and designs on show that you won’t find in any brochure.

The Tinderbox is operated by Robert & Ruth Monger. The Tinderbox has been keeping people warm since 1992 and was first established as RM Installations by Robert Monger the proprietor, who has built a reputation on trust and quality workmanship, a fair and honest price structure and customer recommendation. We provide a comprehensive supply and installation service.

WOODBURNING STOVES

We range from the service and repair of an existing old family friend to the installation of a new traditional stove with rustic appeal or a clean contemporary design.

FIREPLACES

The correct fireplace can enhance a room, copying the style, whether Regency, Victorian, Edwardian or a more modern construction and by choosing the correct material e.g. stone, marble or granite.

We stock a large range of stoves and fireplaces, log baskets and accessories along with professional advice and guidance to help you achieve your dream fire.

CHIMNEY LINING

From prompt and experienced advice to a professional and competitive outcome. Whether lining a chimney to an open fire or a woodburning/multifuel stove using flexible liners or solid twin wall systems.

GAS

As qualified Gas Safe engineers we carry out the servicing and repair of an existing fire to the fitting of a new gas fire ranging from; insets, convector boxes, balance flue and conventional flue systems.

CHIMNEY REPAIRS

From minor repairs to a rebuild we offer the complete professional package. We will guide you through what you actually want from your chimney and the options available to achieve that.

HETAS AND GAS SAFE INSTALLATION

Our installation team have all the qualifications to be HETAS and Gas Safe trained who can produce the highest of quality workmanship in all aspects of our trade.

 

HETAS

As HETAS registered installers we can install a solid fuel appliance whether closed or open fire and flues both flexible metal flue liners or internal / external factory made twin wall system without the homeowner having to notify Building Control. Hetas is the only competent persons registration scheme that specialise in the installation of solid fuel appliances. Always use a HETAS registered installer. GAS SAFE

As Gas Safe engineers we have all the training and skills to work on Gas appliances in your home whether undertaking service work or installing a new appliance. The Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle Of Man and Guernsey, appointed by the relevant Health and Safety Authority for each area.
